Unfortunately, there appears to be something wrong with the display. Almost on a daily basis, I have to reset the clock. The display seems to reset itself at first use. It also looks like there's a sensor that fails to recognize that there's food in the microwave. I have to open and close the door before it allows me to set the cooking time.

GE sold this microwave without charcoal filters, I wouldn™€™t dare give this microwave a decent review. GE is a billion dollar industry. Under no circumstances should the company sell a microwave with no charcoal filters. I DONT WANT TO HEAR: they are sold separately. The first set should automatically be included in the microwave. Every appliance in my home is GE. I paid $783 for this microwave without charcoal filter is an embarrassment and GE needs to fix this issue. For the first time in 25 I am totally disappointed with GE.

The microwave finally bit the dust, so we searched online for something that would match well with the other black appliances. This microwave looks beautiful. Unable to schedule a repair for keys not working

My problem with the microwave is its keys are not working and I scheduled a repair. They couldn™€™t make it, and after me calling them they said the repair person called and told them that he couldn™€™t make it. He never called me. When I try to schedule again online it says I have to call the phone number to schedule the repair. When I call it disconnects after few prompts. When I could get into contact with a person she said I have to call someone other than Boswell and they couldn™€™t help.

Nice unit with only few quibbles on configuration.

This replaces two previous Profile Microwaves. Installation was almost a breeze, however, would have been so if the required mounting holes in the base of the wall cabinet the unit is hung from were the same location. The cabinet floor is beginning to look like swiss cheese after supporting two previous microwaves. Also the wall bracket mounting points did allow the use of our original "u" shaped mounting bracket with the removal of extra tabs instead of having to be removed and replaced with the single strip bracket that came with the new unit. We use the microwave for "basic" functions, reheating etc., and defrosting, other functions are rarely used. The only complaint is that this unit has a "thick" door, which limits the amount of swing because it hits the knob of the cabinet next to the hinged side of the door so the door will only open about 70 degrees instead of 90 degrees. Have to get used to the controls which are now spread across the width of the door instead of a on a vertical panel next to the door. Hopefully the unit will follow the trend of increasing service life we have experienced with its two predecessors.

Installation was easy. The microwave was a perfect fit to replace my old GE microwave oven (I measured first to ensure a good fit - my old GE microwave was 20 years old and still going - now at my nephew's house). The outside venting fan is wonderful - takes cooking smells from the house and pushes outside very quickly and efficiently. While the fan is somewhat loud, there is only so much that can be done about fan noise. Features are all I need in a microwave, and controls are easy to read and understand. Capacity is bigger than my prior 20-year old GE microwave.

Dangerous

Riddled with problems. The plastic piece o. The upper part of the inside broke after a week and can™€™t be replaced. We had to tape it up with duct tape to keep in closed. Now 5 years after we bought it, it™€™s completely dead. It kept tripping the breaker and then when you reset the breaker it turns on by itself with intense power the boiled over water in less than 10 seconds. This is dangerous.

User Can Not Replace The Internal Light Bulb $$

I usually don't write reviews but this needs to be said and hopefully GE will read this and do a better design! After about a year the incandescent internal light went out. To fix this I had to remove the oven and to do that I had to cut the cabinet surround trim to lower the oven. Then you have to remove the outer cover and 2 other internal covers just to get to the bulb, completely ridiculous!! This should be user accessible without removing the oven. This model was their best, most expensive at the time I bought it. The bulb should have been LED and much brighter. The only way you can see what's cooking is to put your nose on the glass and shade your eyes from the kitchen lighting. This bulb change cost me $95 for a $3 bulb!! and my trim... (with friend discount)

I reviewed this microwave before, that its control panel died at about 2 years old. We were able to fix it and it seems to be a common problem with many brands of microwaves. I guess they are all made in the same few factories. But now we have a new issue the plastic upper panel inside just broke and fell out. There is no fixing this piece. So the microwave is junk. More expensive to fix than buy a new one.

I loved it while it lasted, that is why I gave it 2 stars. I bought the microwave as part of a set in the color slate when we built the house, it is built in over the stove and recently it started tripping a breaker and now it will not work. I looked for the same model to replace it and they no longer make it.

It works well. The buttons are a little hard to press and it doesn't work as well for popcorn as my 20 year old microwave did. I like the quick timer buttons since a lot of stuff is reheated for less than 5 minutes and you can press 1 button to get that started.

Frustrating interaction.

3 days after installation the fan spontaneously switched on in BOOST mode. All touch buttons were inactive. We had to unplug the microwave to stop the fan. Thankfully we were home when this happened. We plugged it back in but none of the control buttons worked. We called service who sent someone out 7 days later. Had to take a day off from work( not easy). Service ordered a new door. Service said it usually takes 2-3 MONTHS to get a new door. The store we bought it from will not exchange it or refund us our money.

Questionable design of key swing door

First purchased (Home Depot) 6/2020. Failed 9/23. Contact has been with Customer RELATIONS 1-800-386-1215 opt. 4. Mutiple attempts to repair by two different technicians who replaced door twice then adjusted hinges & latch and finally trimmed corner of plastic vent cover to free wire harness at hinge. "Short circuit in door" yet again. I finally accepted their offer of new unit installed for quarter of list price. Time will tell if design is fatally flawed or if improvements have been made.

Add an extra inch to measurements due to hinge

We just installed it yesterday, so not many complaints yet. My only complaint so far is that the way the hinge is set up on the door, you need about an additional inch of space for full clearance to open the microwave fully. We did not take this into account when purchasing the microwave. Our previous microwave was a lesser model GE and it had a different hinge, so it did not have this problem

Replacement for a 2016 model

This is a replacement for a 2016 model. This new version is much lighter, less robust frame for mounting and has a smaller interior configuration. The built in cook top light is very dim, will likely switch it out with a LED lamp. To bad GE has to compromise builds, to achieve a marketable price point. However it is a stylish model and historically works well..

No external handle! Dimensions are misleading

This is a good looking microwave, with plenty of space inside. Controls are a little hard to push. We would be completely satisfied except for the internal handle. Before buying, we checked dimensions online. The needed width is 30 inches, which would fit exactly into the space. HOWEVER, nowhere is it indicated that there must be extra space on the right in order to fit your fingers behind the door to pull it open. We're looking for a handle to stick on the door so we can open it more easily. Right now we have to put our hands on the top and bottom of the door and pull it open. We usually leave it open when not using it to make it easier.
